How do you entertain yourself when you’re bored at work?

There is no way to entertain myself at work. But I always entertain the idea of lunch time.
Why do you live where you live?

I can't afford to go out on my own yet. I would have been able had I still been at Kodak. But...*makes obscene gesture in its general direction*. So...my parents house is fine. They're getting better at realizing my age. I don't really have any complaints. But I still want to get out as quick as I can.
I woke up at 4:30am because my cough and stuffy nose was keeping me awake, and decided to get ready around 5:30.
I got my swimsuit on, and put a shirt over it, then packed my car with a bunch of stuff for the beach. I got to Neil's around 6:45am and we ended up leaving at 7. We actually got a space down at Huntington in the paid area. But, whoa, it was packed. I think people camped out outside the beach so they could get a pit (we ended up not being able to get one).
We tried to set up a cover thing, but gave up after the 3rd attempt and just decided to wait for the families to get there. ...Problem was, the brought most of the heavy stuff. And parking was terrible by the time they got there (around 10:30). Neil & his brother has to walk about 3 miles -barefoot & carry all the stoves/food/chairs all the way back to where I was sleeping on a blanket.
My parents got there around 2. The whole "meeting-the-parents" shindig went pretty well, considering how different they are. But all was good. I didn't go into the water at all until late in the day - prolly 5ish. But when I did, high tide was changing to low tide, causing the waves to break very near the shore and very quickly. I got tossed around a few times and left Neil and his brother to brave the surf. I got sand in my ear =(
The fireworks were nice. Neil played some songs on the guitar while they went off so that we had a soundtrack-ish kind of thing. They weren't anything compared to Disneyland though. Fireworks don't impress me much anymore. Some 4th's I'd rather just skip the fireworks. Too much trouble. But we were already there so it was cool.
We packed up and put everything in the car, but could leave for another 20 minutes, 'cause some person decided to back up into those "one way" spikes for cars. And what's worse: that was the only exit for about 500 cars. They closed off all exits except Magnolia *groans* We waited until the tow truck came.
At the end of the night, I got even sicker & ended up falling asleep at Neil's and I woke up around 8 *oops*. I think my face got sunburned while I was sleeping in the morning, waiting for them to come back with all the stuff from the car 3 miles away. But the sun wasn't even out. Just clouds.
So today, my cold is a little better & I'm shooting a wedding on Saturday. I think everyone is getting married that day, wow. Kind of a cool day to get married on (7/7/07) though. Sunday I'm working again. Bleh. Last Sunday I didn't work, but I couldn't get to church because I didn't have a car I could use so I went with my family to CCF.
Off topic? a little, hehe
What other names did your parents consider for you?
Victoria if I was a girl or Matthew if a boy.
I know, right?
My job isn't paying me near enough to be working every single Sunday, just because my boss doesn't "feel like working". /palm-to-face
There is a job that is available to me if I so desire, working at an optometrist's office. I'd be like the "nurse" or whatever those people are called. The ones that do those eye tests before you actually see the doctor. Yes, I'll be the one that shoots air at high speeds into your eyeballs.
I'm pretty interested in that one. And I'd assume the hours would be pretty good.
In other news, Neil and 2 of his other friends have started up a business called DigiKure. It's a computer repair company, which will later turn into a repair/build thing. And I helped design the logo =D. I was at the place they're keeping shop last night & they showed me how to build a computer. It's pretty easy. I mean, basically in the back of the motherboard manual, it tells you how to build an entire system. Just gotta make sure everything is plugged in in the right direction. ANYWAY, my point of this was, they wanted to come work for them (later on), doing Quickbooks & keeping track of customers and doing invoicing. I relatively like doing that stuff, anyway.
So, hopefully I'll be able to go to church soon (if I can use a car). WHICH, by the way, was totaled about 2 and half months ago or so. I'm getting $17,300 back for it *cheers*. So I'll pay off the rest of the car & I'll have about 8k left. Enough for a down payment for another car. I just need to get that optometrist job 1st, since it's full time with benefits. There's no way I can afford a car with the job I have now.
I miss everyone.
Work is taking up all my weekends for the past two months or so. *sigh*
I haven't been able to get on gtalk...for some reason it doesn't like to connect to the internet.
*hugs for everyone*

*can't contain my smile*
He went away on tour through Texas, Arizona and Nevada for two weeks (March 20th-April 3rd)...and now he's back =D.
What were you doing one year ago today?

I believe this was actually the day that I worked for Union Bank...for one day. ha!
*kicks Union Bank in the shin*

He looks like something from a prehistoric age or a fantastic creation from Hollywood. But Hercules is very much living flesh and blood - as he proves every time he opens his gigantic mouth to roar. Part lion, part tiger, he is not just a big cat but a huge one, standing 10ft tall on his back legs. Called a liger, in reference to his crossbreed parentage, he is the largest of all the cat species.
He is the accidental result of two enormous big cats living close together at the Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species, in Miami, Florida, and already dwarfs both his parents.

"Ligers are not something we planned on having," said institute owner Dr Bhagavan Antle. "We have lions and tigers living together in large enclosures and at first we had no idea how well one of the lion boys was getting along with a tiger girl, then lo and behold we had a liger."
50mph runner... Not only that, but he likes to swim, a feat unheard of among water-fearing lions. In the wild it is virtually impossible for lions and tigers to mate. Not only are they enemies likely to kill one another, but most lions are in Africa and most tigers in Asia. But incredible though he is, Hercules is not unique. Ligers have been bred in captivity, deliberately and accidentally, since shortly before World War II.
Today there are believed to be a handful of ligers around the world and a similar number of tigons, the product of a tiger father and lion mother. Tigons are smaller than ligers and take on more physical characteristics of the tiger.

Origins: The word liger, documented as entering the English language in 1938, describes a real feline, the offspring of a male lion and a female tiger. (The opposite case, the offspring of a male tiger and a female lion, is known as a tigon.)
Both ligers and tigons exist in captivity, and the pictures and description reproduced above do correspond to one such example of the former, a liger named Hercules who lives at the Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (T.I.G.E.R.S.) in Myrtle Beach, a wildlife education organization run by director Dr. Mahamayavi Bhagavan Antle.
Hercules was the result of an accident rather than deliberate breeding. He is three years old, stands 10 feet tall on his hind legs, and weighs about 1,000 lbs. (At maturity he is expected to reach 12 feet in length and weight about 1,250 lbs.) He eats about 20 lbs. of meat (beef or chicken) per day, and he can consume up to 100 lbs of food in one sitting.
My bosses granddaughter was at work today. She's about 5 or 6 years old, I'd say. Anyway, she was checking her email (she has email?!) and she got something from her mom that was about this liger thing. Intense.
Oh, and notice the acronym, T.I.G.E.R.S.. I laughed when I saw that they put "Greatly" in there. Gotta have it say tigers though, goodness =P
